SPE Method Development - interactive learning tool » SPE Meth Dev

This month we look at a simple and structured approach to developing a reversed phase Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) method. We’ve provided an interactive learning tool to allow you to evaluate different sets of conditions and see what effect they have on the resulting chromatogram.

What can you learn in 5min - SPE? » Solid Phase Extraction

An SPE method follows 5 steps :
1) Sample pretreatment – e.g. pH adjustment, protein precipitation, filtration
2) Column conditioning – the column is made ready for the sample being loaded. More »

Welcome to the CHROMacademy Sample Prep department

Ron MajorsWelcome to the Sample Preparation Department. The need for sample preparation is critical to chromatography and mass spectrometry and yet it’s often the part of the analysis that practitioners know the least about. Within the Sample Preparation Department, we aim to bring you up to date, with classes and labs that concentrate on letting you fully understand the mechanisms of Solid Phase Extraction and how to manipulate SPE parameters to optimise the final concentration and cleanliness of your sample extracts.

While we primarily focus our teaching on Solid and Liquid Phase extraction, it is our intention to expand these topics very quickly during the coming months.

We also have a host of articles and papers on SPE, SPME, and related techniques. If you would like to see other techniques included or have a suggestion on how we can improve existing materials, feel free to contact me at tutor@support.chromacademy.com
