Fundamentals of ICP-OES
Course Details
Premier
Inductively coupled plasma – optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) is a commonly used technique for determining the elemental composition of a wide range of materials. Typical sample matrices include environmental, metallurgical, petrochemical, geochemical, and pharmaceutical. This webcast will present the fundamental theory and typical instrumentation used for ICP-OES, and provides a good overview of the technique. General instrument setup, plasma formation, and sample introduction will be discussed as well as the process of light separation and quantification.
Topics include:
- What can an ICP-OES do?
- General instrument overview
- Plasma formation
- Sample introduction
- How the light is separated and quantified
- Potential interferences in ICP-OES
