CHROMtalks - Comprehensive Two-Dimensional Gas Chromatography: Tips on Method Optimization
Course Details
Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GCxGC) method optimization is more demanding compared to one-dimensional GC; in fact, apart from injection conditions (which basically do not differ), the operator must select the most appropriate columns, inlet pressure(s), GC oven temperature program(s), (thermal or flow) modulation and detection conditions. This presentation aims to provide basic and useful tips on how to optimize a GCxGC method, with thermal and flow modulation, in a rapid and straightforward manner. Even though GCxGC method optimization is often software-assisted, it is beneficial to possess basic knowledge on the interplay of variables involved in a GCxGC analysis.
